How do I create an account?

If you don’t have a RentSmart account yet:

  1. Click ‘Sign up’ in the top right-hand corner of the homepage. You can choose to sign up with Google, Facebook or your email address.
  2. Complete your profile by verifying your identity and filing in all the required details..
  3. Congratulations! You’re now officially a trusted user. At this stage, you’re ready to rent and list your own items for rental.

How much does RentSmart take as commission from the Owner?

RentSmart takes a 15% commission from the Vendor (the owner) against the Total Rental Fee.

Does RentSmart have a mobile app?

We do not have a mobile app at the moment, but we do have a Progressive Web App(PWA) that works rather similar to a normal app, which can be added to your home screen. Simply go to RentSmart’s homepage on your phone/tablet and click the ‘Add to Home Screen’ button when it pops up. Now you should have it appeared on your home screen and ready to be used.

Why I could not checkout all the items in my cart?

As for now, RentSmart only allows one item to be checked out at a time. For customers who wish to rent multiple items, we suggest to book an item once you’ve completed another item. We’ll update our users promptly if any changes will be made regarding this.

Why does RentSmart not have a native app?

RentSmart’s website is responsive and mobile-friendly, which is known as Progressive Web App. With that, users are not obliged to download anything when they want to use RentSmart on their mobile phone. A PWA allows you to add it to your home screen and makes it look and work like a native app. Also, with a PWA, you can have the access to the site even without an internet connection.

How do I add RentSmart’s web app to my home screen on an iPhone/iPad?

  1. Open Safari on your iOS device and navigate to RentSmart Asia.
  2. At the bottom of your screen you should see the toolbars and click the middle one which is the bookmark icon
  3. When the bookmark options appear, tap on ‘Add to home screen’.
  4. Edit the shortcut name and tap on the ‘Add’ button.
  5. You’ll then see a shortcut appear on your iPhone’s home screen. Just tap on this icon at any time to open RentSmart on our mobile friendly website.
